Vintage original 11 x 14" (28 x 35 cm.) lobby card. U. S. Ann Harding, Leslie Howard, Myrna Loy, William Gargan, Neil Hamilton, Ilka Chase, dir: Edward H. Griffith, George Cukor; RKO. A superlative production from David O. Selznick of the popular Phillip Barry play. This is a society story about a writer who publishes books that will sell, is involved with two women, marries one and becomes bored. When he attempts to renew his relationship with the second woman, she puts an end to it. The story and clever dialogue were pure per-code. This was one of the very first films for which George Cukor came to Hollywood from New York to work on dialogue and characterization with the actors. A bored and drinking Tom Collier (Leslie Howard) confides to Daisy Sage (Ann Harding) that he married Loy and that he should have married her instead. He attempts to return to her after marrying Cecilia, so she ends their relationship to protect both of them. Powerful Art Deco design, rarely seen pre-Code title.
