CAT PEOPLE (1942)

RKO 11 x 14” still photo. Exquisite oversized silver gelatin double weight glossy portrait of Simone Simon. The portrait is stamped on the back by photographer Fred Hendrickson. The RKO stamp is also present, as is half of the original attached paper blurb which tells us that Simone has returned to Hollywood to make a film called CAT PEOPLE (she had returned to France in 1938 after making a few films at Fox). In the portrait, she wears a gown similar to that which appears on the poster art for CAT PEOPLE. Most famous for this film, Simone was born in France in 1910 and worked in European and American films between 1931 and 1956. She died in Paris at the age of 95 in 2005.
