Robert Donat, Madeleine Carroll, Luce Mannheim, Godfrey Tearl, Peggy Ashcroft, John Laurie, dir: Alfred Hitchcock; Gaumont British. Campaign book for the American release of this UK film, which the producing company, Gaumont distributed in the United States and for which American-sized posters were designed. These are featured in full color on the back cover. Lobby posters and cards are featured on the inside cover and ads, article and promotions are featured throughout. The front cover is the window card for the film. This is a prime early title in the history of the film art of Alfred Hitchcock. The story of a Canadian visitor to London who meets a girl at a music hall. She is running away from secret agents and he hides her in his apartment, but she is murdered during the night. Fearing he will be blamed, he flees and pursues breaking the spy ring. Very rarely does any original art for this title appear, and it is all here!
