ADRIENNE AMES CHESTERFIELD CIGARETTE STANDEE (ca 1940)

45 x 29”. The “Bluejackets” is a term then used to refer to the British Navy, and we believe this poster to date from the time when England was at war, but the U.S., not yet. Here in the U.S. there were drives to raise funds and send supplies to the U.K., of which this standee for then-popular Chesterfield Cigarettes is a good example. Ames was a movie actress of the 1930’s.
